Same 5 shorts are still going, mostly a slow day though. I rewrote my 'running' trading strategy again. Much better and much more up to date now.

all 5 of my shorts made gains today. i added some more to my suspect list but need much more. overall my current trades are looking pretty good and i have moved several of the stops to break even. i think i should add one more bar signal....'inverted flu shot', which would be a variation of my 'reinforcement' signal.

just watching my current trades and finding more when i have time.

4 out of 5 of my trades gained for the day. if i find the time i will find more to enter.

the 20 bar signals im using as of 6/23/10. not sure if i would add any more or remove any. i like all of these.

VRSN short entry

Found another short entry that i like using another "original" bar signal. Ill call this one the Flu Shot since the 2nd bar looks like a giant needle being stuck into a 'body'(bar 1). i like it because its basically another version of my soviet rocket. some people might possibly see it as a wierd-mini-slingshot.

TLM, STR, XCO short entries

after entering my TNE short i found several more that i really liked. I would have entered TLM, STR and XCO right before the close on thursday June 17 2010 (yesterday) but i could not be at my desk. I entered all of them a little later than i want now, the next day (today). Entry prices were either a little better or a little worse. so now im holding 4 short trades right now.

TLM has what i consider a mini tower top.

STR has a cloud cover.

XCO has one of my soviet rockets.

TNE short entry

decided to try a bar signal i have been noticing on other moves. its not one of the popular/common ones that are in my books, so i will go ahead and name it for myself, but it has the usual mechanics/action as other reversals big and small. strong rally up to resistance, exhaustion gap followed by a breakdown of prior bar support. basically just a dark cloud cover but there is a gap into the trade direction instead of resistance. a bigger version of it made up of several "rally bars" followed by a gap down with a huge down bar is called a 'hole in the wall' by Alan Farley in his "the master swing trader" book.

ill call it a SOVIET ROCKET since it appears to take off well but immediately has a problem and falls to the ground.

Now that i decided its best to enter before the close of the day im not sure what i can put on watchlist videos to keep track of what i looked at.

Exited VRSK today (should have done it before yesterday's close)finally after watching it move like a tremor on a seismograph. got a tiny 1.6% gain. i was wondering how to exit since i dont currently have any specific timed stop to use. it turns out my normal exit rules work just fine, as long as im willing to let the money stay tied up in the slow stock. im thinking MAYBE this turned out to be a bad trade cuz the mtf MA's were too far away and the 50 seems to have kept the stock from falling further for me. i think i will write up an exit checklist to use as im watching my open positions.

put up a June 9 watchlist today. still holding VRSK for a short but watching TZA and SWN for entry. not using RSI anymore or a 2nd,smaller TL.

After days of crap movement my TEVA long finally got stopped out for a 5.6% loss. My VRSK short is profitable as of today but its a little too volatile. I have a "suspect list" and a "watchlist" now. Anything from my weekly scan thats is a nice channel or is playing with the trendlines well, i will put on my suspect list...which should usually be well over 100 each week. IF any of those suspects actually tells me to enter then i will move it to my watchlist.

Several promising stocks for this week....about 150 suspects i have right now.
